Save Our Science Centre Petition
Doug Ford says he’s calling an early election because he wants a new mandate to deal with Trump’s tariffs. Newsflash, Doug—you don’t need a new mandate to do that.
You know what Doug Ford did need a mandate for?
Ripping the Science Centre out of Don Valley East.
This was an unnecessary and costly move—far more expensive than he originally claimed, and far more expensive than fixing the roof ($144 million dollars more!) It has devastated the surrounding small businesses, and torn the social and cultural fabric of our community. Youth and seniors have suffered most.
Where was Doug Ford’s mandate for that? He didn’t have one. He didn’t seek one. He snatched out the beating heart of Don Valley East to satisfy the whims of an foreign-owned mega-spa company he made a bad deal with.
Doug Ford and the Conservatives have hung Don Valley East out to dry.
So long as this historic building stands, we will keep fighting for it.
Sign the petition here or below this area. Tell Doug Ford to make the necessary repairs, save our taxpayer money, and save our Science Centre from himself.
Save the Science Centre Summit
In this full-day meeting on March 14th 2024, a broad coalition of individuals, communities, and organizations with diverse backgrounds took the fight to save the Ontario Science Centre to a whole new level.
Save Our Science Centre Rallies
Over the past two years, I have attended numerous Save Our Science Centre rallies across the city. Through thousands of petition signatures, letters, and demonstrations like this one, the people have spoken.
Sudden Closure of the Science Centre
After the sudden closure of the Science Centre in June 2024, I stood up and called Doug Ford out alongside Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie to shame Doug Ford for his irrational decision. People shouldn’t have to suffer so Doug Ford’s friends can get rich.
